The Boley Founders Day Rodeo is a celebration held in one of America’s most iconic historically Black towns—Boley, Oklahoma. Recognized as a symbol of freedom and self-determination, Boley was once the largest and most prosperous Black town in the United States, as praised by Booker T. Washington. Today, only 13 such towns remain in Oklahoma, and Boley proudly stands as a beacon of resilience and heritage.
From high-stakes rodeo competitions and soulful blues music to curated food experiences like the Crab Tent and community vendors, Founders Day honors the past while investing in the future. It’s more than just a rodeo—it’s a living, breathing celebration of culture, legacy, and pride.
